curiosity kills the budget.. again

I was looking to trade some gear to assist in other purchases. I looked at the wrong place, broke my careful 'planning' and the budget. Well, dented it a bit..

Goal for the KP kit = 15, 20-40 (or 21+35), 70 Limiteds plus M135/3.5 and the 50-200wr. Other telestuff in the future.
Near-term plan kit = 15, 18-50re, 50, 135, 50-200.
Kit wrecker: F17-28 fisheye!

I've owned it before on aps.C and really enjoyed it. On the KP images are bent below 20mm and offer hints at bending beyond that. It's a pinch wider and faster than the 15 and covers to the 35 macro nicely. And makes only the weather seals useful with the 18-50.

Ah well, kits and promises break at times. I'll be picking up the pieces.. and smiling at such nice pieces they are!
I'll figure out what stays and what goes. Tomorrow. That's it, I'll finalize my kit tomorrow! After all (cue swelling musical finale)...

Unless you already have it I advise against the 50-200. It is very decent between 80-150 but not that good shorter or longer. Either look for 55-300 or F 80-200.

I agree. And it would make a terrible matchup when you get the very high quality DA 20-40mm Ltd. If you can't do the DA 55-300mm PLM, then the DA HD 55-300mm WR lens, both of which work well with the 20-40mm Ltd. Actually, my favorite with the DA 20-40mm Ltd is the DA* 50-135mm f/2.8 which is a lovely combo, especially for low light use, but I also own the HD 55-300mm WR which is good too, and relatively compact with the extra tele range.

Beware! There is no cure for this condition. Once started, it can only go into remission from time to time.

At some point a collector can own one of each, whereas a swapper like me will own six of any lens in ten years..

Gear collecting is cheaper than some other sins like smoking or gambling. At least you can get some of your money back when you sell/swap your stuff.

Unless, of course, you are so greedy you want to keep everything. I admit it, I am guilty as charged, Your Honor!

Amen ! There are plenty other hobbies that could lead one to a very dark place where even an ISO 1mil cant help. Lens addiction is probably much less harmful and might be easier to get out of if need be. I'm guilty as well Gov
