HD Pentax-D FA 70-210mm F4 ED SDM WR

I just managed to purchase new D FA 70-210 ( Demo - @very good price).
I have a question about tripod mount.
In PF review section it is stated :
While Pentax does not provide a tripod mount for this lens, the optional A034TM tripod mount made by Tamron for their similar 70-210mm F4 telezoom will fit.
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1395687-REG/tamron_a034tm_70_210mm_f_...981&

Can any user of this lens confirm this?

In the Serial Numbers registry the PF member:
Nakedgun - View Profile - PentaxForums.com
claims:
"The corresponding Tamron tripod clamp would not fit, but it really is not needed, this lens is lightweight."

Could any current user confirm or rule out those claims please.

I thought about getting the Tamron mount for my 70-210, but the lens is light enough that it's not going to bend a camera body, and camera shake is lessened greatly if the rig is mounted to a tripod via the camera rather than the lens.
A tripod mount for this lens is camera theater more than anything else.

Personally, I don't think it needs a tripod collar, but, and this is a big but, I've found it vibrates a lot in the wind - especially with the hood on. Various tricks of weighing down tripod, different styles of heads etc failed to sort out the problem. Never had a lens that suffered this badly in just a light breeze. My solution, which turned out to be very successful but rather defeats the lightweight lens advantage, was to use a Manfrotto telephoto support (https://www.manfrotto.com/uk-en/telephoto-lens-support-293/).

I will restate my claim that the item sent to me from B&H, part # clearly printed on the box, would not fit. Specifically, the clamp could not be tightened as the band did not close tight enough around the lens to make this possible.

thank you all for replies

I hardly ever used tripod in the past.
Unfortunately times are changing , after number of operations on my left arm and my right hand I need to look at options to make my gear more usable.
Perhaps a monopod will be my new option.....

I don't think anyone in this thread tested it. If you can find clear info about the diameter, fine, otherwise you'll have to test!
