the super-macro-takumar is a super-takumar, the other one is a later super-multi-coated takumar. basically, yours and the other one offered by pacific rim are newer versions of the same lens. as for why pacific rim charges so much, I dont know. they always do. so I wouldnt consider that to be a fair market price.

i used to have this lens, couldn't really find any optical faults with it strictly looking at it from my monitor. the corners were sharp, everything was good. just didn't need a macro lens. the price does seem to be high, i bought mines for $100 USD and let it go at about $90 or so IIRC.
