Please school me on 50's

If you go here Pentax Normal Prime Lenses and compare the elements and lay-out, there is not a lot of difference in the optical formula and number of elements and shape among the Pentax 50 f1.4 lenses whether it is the K, M, A, F or FA. The same holds true with the f1.7 Pentax lenses.

To stir the pot a little, here is the new DA* 55 f1.4 which is a completely new design with 9 elements in 8 groups.
