Front focus

What is front focus?

it is when you focus let's say at an object at 10m but then you find that in your photo the object at 8m is in focus instead of the 10m object

But it's only front focus if you are *sure* the camera actually *tried* to focus on the more distant object. Probably the vast majority of post I see where people say they are seieng front focus are cases where the camera clearly chose to focus on something other than what the person wanted the camera choose (eg, a person standing behind a tree, photographer wanted focus on the person, but camera chose tree). That's not front focus at all - it's simply a matter of not being careful enough to make sure the camera focuses on what you want. And it isn't always possible to control this precisely, which i one reaosn manual focus still exists.
