Renting Lens from Online question

I've read, online, that some people rent lens. Unfortunately, I live in a rural area where even the nearest camera store is 2 hours away....

I would love to rent lens to try them out. My question is, are there any online places to rent Pentax lens (that members here have tried/trust) - ?

Yes, lensrentals is a good biz. I've always had good experiences with them. I will say that if you do rent, read the terms of the rental, particularly about returning the rented.

I haven't looked at them lately but I have also rented a lens from them and then bought that lens from them for a somewhat better price than getting a brand new one.

and if Fed Ex picks up at your house, that is how you return it.

I recommend renting high priced gear when possible. I had rented from Borrow Lenses but they no longer rent Pentax gear.

Essentially it appears lensrentals is Nearly the only game in town for renting Pentax gear by Mail. They carry 51 items, including batteries and an AC adapter, 13 items are 645z related (body and 12 lenses) they carry the k1 mk II and the 645z and the K3iii. . . .

Yessir! The service and selection was great back in the day, but all good things must end. I will try Lens Rentals soon. I want to do it when I'll have a chance to make the best use of the gear.

I rented a Pentax DFA 15-30 from lensrentals.com about a year ago and had no problems. I think they do require someone to sign for delivery. The lens was in good condition and packaged well for delivery. They have periodic deals during the year like 10% off.

yes, you do sign upon delivery

last time I went to Yellowstone,

I had LensRental deliver to a Fed EX store out west and had the item held for me to pick up

that way I didn't have to worry about how to travel with the lens and tripod between Topeka and Yellowstone

I dropped the item off at the same spot for return to LensRental

no problems at all

they will work with you
