Lost the filter window from my DFA 150-450

Anyone know where I can get a replacement filter window for the lens hood of my DFA 150-450 lens hood?
I have searched generally and on the CRK website, but turned up nothing.
I don't want to have to resort to a replacement lens hood ($103 ), but I guess I could just put some black tape over the opening.
Any help in sourcing the item will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Terry

Terry, give CRK a call.

Maybe they don't list it as a separate part but can get them in, or have a spare.

Worst case is they confirm it only comes as a complete hood.

... since my last time i lost one of those pieces, I decided to fix them on all my hoods with a black Gaffa tape. You can only get it if you buy the expensive hood completly.

I don't know what the policy is in the UK/EU but in North America Ricoh will not sell parts other than standard accessories to end users. Recently they have started selling parts to their authorized repair centers which will/can not resell those parts (except as repairs).

Your best bet other than tape is if someone could 3D print a replacement.

Time (years - decades ago) was if you called or wrote to Pentax they would likely just send you a replacement part for free.

Thanks to all for your responses.
I've decided to simply tape over the hole for the time being.

A bit late, but indeed getting an entire hood is probably the only way to replace the filter window cover. A long time ago I lost the one on my old SDM DA*16-50/2.8, and I had to buy a new hood as well.

If you get sick of replacing the tape, try a black sock. Cut the top section off an old black sock, pull it over the hood to allow you to mask the hole. It can be rolled back and forth easily when you want to adjust a CPL.

Good idea. I lost mine on my 55-300. I haven't bothered to tape it or replace it.... I haven't noticed much of any difference .

It could be an issue in portrait mode with the Sun to your right.

We put LensCoats on all of our big glass. Keeps the windows secure, roll the neoprene back for access... I've had to buy a few lens hoods over the years, sell the left over parts on eBay to folks that needed parts, a minor cost recovery....
