Thats the one - same markings as the one I have coming in. Its going to absolutely dwarf my poor K-70.

I'm thinking the 'newer' version is the one with a Ricoh pin in it, so I could get very lucky and not have to operate on it before using it.

perhaps but read the earlier PF thread I linked to

one of the posts talking about a " Promaster " version mentioned a Ricoh pin

Granted, 320mm on a newer lens might be more than 500mm on an old! :-D
I must have missed the part where the OP was looking to get 500mm + That makes it a bit trickier.

There have been a few 500mm - 600mm mirror lenses listed recently, Sigma and Tamron amongst them - and a Russian 1000mm !
