Honestly, I don't think you can make a "bad" choice either way; I'd look at it as which one do you buy "first"...

I'll go get the FA35mm. Another reason is that I am seeing the stock of this lens is drying up... I wanna have a new one as my first lens before I can only get it from a flee market.

Always go there through Live Search. One can gain extra 3% cash back from Adorama, so it is $290 with free shipping. Not a big saving though.

Pass on the DA 35...

Hi,

I'm looking for a lens for my K200D. Mainly take indoor pictures for my son.

One of my friends recommends FA 35mm F/2, but I found FA 50mm is actually much cheaper. I'm a bit hesitating now...

Can you guys give me some suggestions? Thanks!
I've had/used both the DA 35 and FA 50 f/1.4. Can't say about the FA 35, but I saw nothing in the DA 35 that recommended it over the FA 50 and at three times the price. It's good, but it's not better in any way I could measure, than the 50 1.4, and certainly less than the 43mm Ltd. I now use as a walk-around.

Perhaps it shows it's very best on the K20, but for anything with less resolution, I'd go with the FA 35, or the 50 (f/1.4 or 1.7) and pass on the DA 35,

I own the 50 and just got the FA35 and it just hammers the 50/1.4 from f/2 to 2.8. The 50 is a fine lens but it needs until 2.8 to get some pop going.
