Hi all,

I'm looking at a few 35mm F2 lens, the prices are good used but there's one really good but
has haze in the middle of the lens, I'm very handy fixed up a few camera's (Rolleiflex 3.5F). So
how easy is it to get into the elements of the lenses to clean?

Thanks

How can such an item be "really good" if it has haze in the middle and needs to be fixed. Why buy another persons "disaster"?

Probably a better choice than one with haze in the middle: PENTAX FA 35mm F2.0 AL Wide Angle Lens - Black [Near MINT] from JAPAN 27075046351 | eBay

No repairs needed.

Hi @Lens-a-do,

It's a gratifying job to clean or restore a camera or a lens.

However, I would be leery of any lens that shows haze on an element. I've had several vintage lenses in which I just couldn't clear up hazy elements, no matter what I tried. There's no guarantee that a hazy lens could be restored.

The FA 35mm f/2 is not an expensive lens in the first place, even new. It remains the real bargain high-quality performer for the price. Now there is the improved HD version. It is not worth chancing compromised performance by paying even less than the very low average used price for a used copy with a defect. The DIY repair could wind up costing more than the small savings, and then not turn out 100% perfect, let alone the time and trouble.
