Sigma 105mm EX Macro LH580-03 Lens Hood question

I did a quick search but didn't find the answer to this, so I'm asking Sigma 105mm macro (and maybe other Sigma lens?) owners:

Anybody know the front filter diameter of the Sigma OEM LH580-03 (or -02 - I guess I'm assuming they're the same?) lens hood? It's one of the annoying screw-in Sigma hoods with 58mm threads on the lens side.

I should mention the Sigma post-Pentax-era 105mm lenses use different hoods, but the EX-era used the 58mm hoods.

I've not been there for a long time, but Sigma's website used to have a lot of info on old lenses.

Yes, I own one. The hood and filter threads are the same, at 58 mm.

I have the 70mm macro with the OEM hood - it's marked as "620-01" and measures 58mm at the narrow end (at the lens) and 77mm at the wide (open) end...

The front end of the 580-02 hood holds a 77mm filter. Have one here on my desk I just checked to confirm.

Thanks for the replies! I did know the 62mm hood for the 70mm accepted 77mm filters; I had guessed the 58mm might have been 67mm but apparently it (or its -02 predecessor anyway) is 77mm.

I did check the Sigma site where you can still buy the -03 model but did not see the front filter thread size for the hood (it's shown for lenses, of course.) I'm wondering if the -02 vs. -03 difference might be related to the changes in the EX finish (paint) but I'm not sure.

I'm debating whether to look for an OEM hood or get a step-up ring instead so I can use existing filters (I have 67, 72, 77, and 82mm.) If the hood had been 62mm that would have not been an option. I guess I'm leaning toward the step ring because the front element is already so far recessed into the lens, and the ring could just stay on all the time. Being it a threaded hood there's no easy way to carry it reversed. If it were a bayonet hood I'd definitely go in that direction.

I think you mean that the hood is attached to the threads; I meant the female threads at the outer end of the hood.
