I currently have the same items (without the battery grip mounted) in a small brown leather Ona shoulder bag. It makes a remarkably capable walk-around kit.

For the record, I currently have full frame (or nearly) K mount primes (including a handful of third party offerings) in these focal lengths:
12, 15, 20, 21, 24, 28, 30, 31, 32, 35, 40, 43, 50, 55, 64, 70, 77, 85, 100, 135, 200 and 300

I keep thinking I should sell some, but so far that hasn't been very successful
lol actually it was your comment in another thread that had me take the 4 limiteds out in my kit this month, nice range of lenses to walk around with. Still trying to think of which brand has a 64mm lens

Lomography Daguerreotype Achromat 64/2.9

For those interested, the only other third part lenses I have are:
Samyang 12/2.8 fish eye
Laowa 12/2.8 D-Dreamer Zero-D
Lomography Lomogon 32/2.5 Art
Sigma 35/1.4 Art

(and a Schneider-Kreuznach Cinelux-Ultra 125/2.0 fixed aperture projector lens adapted to 645 mount)

Each of them offers something unavailable in the Pentax ecosystem, so I pardon myself from my minor brand disloyalty

I am quite surprised that my bit of boredom generated so much interest.

I remember reading years ago that Pentax alone had made over 35 million lenses and I forgot to include those made in 37mm mount for the Asahiflex of which there are 50, 58, 83, 100, 135 and 500mm available somewhere, then of course if we throw in lenses by independent makers the tally is enormous and of course they have to be acquired just to see how the optics compare don't ya know.

Coming from the film world in 2008 where the fastest film I ever used was 400ISO and you were stuck with whatever film you had in the camera and migrating to the K200D with a much wider and changeable film speed. However everybody at that time recommending that you kept ISO speed as low as possible because of noise with the sensors I was horrified at the slow speed of digital lenses which was when I started at poking around for faster lenses, now of course sensors have improved so grain is not really an issue and strangely enough there also seems to be no real issue with dust on the sensor which there was back then.

An FA43 mounted on a K-3/P/70 gets you close. A Leitz Wetzlar 60/2.8 with a Leitax mount will get you in the ballpark on a K-1. Sandy found one

I think the “see which focal lengths you shoot and get lenses there” plan works best for people wanting primes to supplement use of modern zooms. Otherwise, you may not shoot at certain focal lengths because you don’t have lenses with the right capability there.

I have full frame covered from 20-500, plus a 16mm fisheye (not all in Pentax branded lenses).
There are a number of lenses I have that I rarely use but might if I had something better there…
My 300mm choices at the moment, for example, aren’t great. They either vignette on full frame or have loads of CA.

But I’m glad to have options. I’m currently waiting for the 70-300 DFA as I think that will be better for me than either the 300mm f4 or the 150-450…
And there are a few other places where I’d like to improve my gear… it’s just time and money…

There are never too many lenses. My "best lens" will probably be the next I acquire.

For example, I just got a 645 DFA 55 mm f/2.8 for my 645Z : best lens I ever had.

Regards

For three pages I pretty much read, "Zach, you don't have a problem. You need to buy more lenses."

And how many people have said "I don't shoot Pentax because they don't have enough lens choice!" LOL.

If you can't think of a lens you'd buy if you had the money, you're not really engaged.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

My current list to buy (and most of them will be purchased in the next 3 months, God willing):
DFA 21 or another wide vintage Pentax
FA 31
FA 85
DFA 100
DFA 150-450

And probably the DFA 28-105.

If you get that one first, you may decide not to buy the others the 31, 85 and 100. Probably not, they all do things other lenses aren't good at, but it's a possibility.

I only have a dozen-odd lenses. But in my poverty-stricken state, I still find myself gravitating to two most often and 3 less often for specialized cases. The others only very rarely. (I have sold a few older primes over the years, to be fair.)

2 most: 16-85/55-300PLM, obviously (though we'll think about a 16-50 PLM one of these days).
3 used, but less often: 40mm Ltd/70mm Ltd/100mm (nearly) Ltd

Kinda' still want: 300mm * prime (which might also give me 420mm with my TC in a better way than the 55-300 rather than spring for and then carry around a 150-450).

One cannot have too many lenses; however, one can have more than one can carry!

And that can cause long intense "what do I take today " sessions that can seriously cut into your time spent taking images.
