Pentax 94mm f/1.8?

This site https://www.photonstophotos.net/GeneralTopics/Lenses/OpticalBench/OpticalBench.htm has a schematic for a "Pentax 94mm 1.8" but I haven't find any info. Maybe it's just from a patent? Regardless, the design interests me and I'd appreciate any info.

I cannot make any sense of the lens database. Never heard of any of them.

Sounds like maybe a theoretical new limited. Odd focal length, fast aperture. Although there is all sorts of weird stuff in there like a Pentax 26mm f/4.1, and Pentax 88mm f/2.9 macro so who knows what it is trying to show.

If you examine the data carefully you'll find a reference to "Title US 6,549,343"
Doing a search for that turns up a patent for Intermediate telephoto lens system.
What other examples I checked all seem to be a little fanciful or cryptic, though possibly based on actual lenses or references … doubtless it kept someone occupied during the lock-down

I think they are listed by their true specs since they differ from what a lens is sold as.

This patent seems to be filed in 2001. So they may already be halfway to release by now.

"True" isn't what I should have said. I meant that the advertised focal length or maximum aperture can be different from what you get when you do the math. So it's possible that the person who made this database made errors but also companies do lie or round the numbers

So maybe this is the fabled 100mm F2.0 preset?

Could have been marketed as 100/2 (Takumar 100/2? )

Can the focal length be rounded down as far as 85/1.8?
I wonder what the rule is for marketing number vs actual?

What originally caught my eye was the very low the distortion and the focusing mechanism is also interesting. I think It's safe to say this has never been manufactured and sold.

This may have been a medium format lens design and not a 35mm one?

A 6x7 94/1.8 would be a fast normal/standard lens for that system.

I was thinking that too but it looks like the image circle is 21.64mm so that's not going to cover more than 35mm.
