That is true, especially considering how conservative the company is. They didn't want to release a full frame version of the 60-250 because, in their view, it didn't deliver on par with what a STAR lens is. So they preferred to release a rebadged 70-210 without the STAR label. (I got this from the North American mkt manager)

The published review has actually been written, and available, for a few years
It's just been recently posted to the home page. It's not linked to any insider info which I don't have.
I also mention a few times in the review how difficult it is to manage the lens and TC at the long end. It requires good light, a stable tripod and fine technique. (plus often several attempts).
