If I may chime in...

I believe Ricoh would never recommend that choice of gear, and no camera shop with decent professionalism would.
That is true, especially considering how conservative the company is. They didn't want to release a full frame version of the 60-250 because, in their view, it didn't deliver on par with what a STAR lens is. So they preferred to release a rebadged 70-210 without the STAR label. (I got this from the North American mkt manager)

Unless that review is preliminary to the newly rumored Pentax full frame TC that Ricoh are about to release around CP+ (2022) and show a mock-up of the Pentax K1 mk III.
The published review has actually been written, and available, for a few years It's just been recently posted to the home page. It's not linked to any insider info which I don't have.

I also mention a few times in the review how difficult it is to manage the lens and TC at the long end. It requires good light, a stable tripod and fine technique. (plus often several attempts).

Bernard, do you plan on doing a review of the DFA 150-450 mm zoom + DA 1.4X converter on an APSc body (on the K3 III maybe) ?

Thanks!

That, yes. Although there is quite interesting smaller lenses for the K3 III with or without TC: the DA 54-300 PLM and the DFA70-210 that should also work pretty good, at half the weight and price of the 150450.

450 mm X 1.4 = 630 mm (converted FL)

630 mm X 1.5 = 945 mm (FF equivalent)

Can you imagine ?

The 150-450 is a very nice tele zoom lens. On APSC angle of view is extremely small. If you need more reach, look for a different lens/system. For me it is not a lens for TC use at all, especially not on FF or with a 2xTC. Pentax would need a strategy for lenses plus TCs - including FF. A 1.4xTC would go well with some lenses, but honestly a high end tele lens is missing. 2.8/300 plus 1.4x/2x make sense. My TC is called K3iii.
