DA* 50-135mm from Prodigital2000 Question...

Anyone who has bought a 50-135mm, was your Pentax box a little beat up? I just received mine and it's a little beat up and the bag containing didn't have a little bag of desiccant. I'm hoping it's not a return from someone else that they sent me. So how many around here has returned one of these to Prodigital2000?

Thanks.

I bought 2 lenses from them (DA12-24 and DA35). Since they have retail outlets I'm pretty sure the lenses they sell are new. The box is beat up because they don't use shipping boxes. They use padded envelopes instead...probably to save on shipping. As long as the lens itself is fine, I wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure you run it through some focus tests to make sure you have a good copy.

I think in my moment of excitedness (is that even a word? haha) I didn't notice that I threw the desiccant bag to the side. I found it now and I feel much better knowing that it's probably a new lens and not one that was returned by someone else.

I ordered a 50-135 from them last week and received it yesterday. The box was is a bad conditions, but the lens looked brand new. I had the same reaction when I received the lens, but it's the second time I buy a lens from them (DA* 35mm is the other one) and a Af360FGZ flash and they were in perfect conditions despite the box being in a poor condition. Guess the shipping is responsible for that. I conducted a few quick test yesterday and it looks perfect. 2 years Canadian warranty for me.

All,
I guess i got lucky or they don't trust American shipping, when prodigital shipped me my DA 300mm, there was a lot of bubble wrapping around it and all that was enclosed inside another box, not an envelope. The DA 300 is a heavier lens, so maybe that explains the better protection.

I got home and tested the unit and it looks good! The focus was spot on and the images are sharp! I have to do some real world shooting, but I'm happy so far.

The box did get beatup a little. It was inside another box with a little bubble wrap on the side and a couple little bags of air. I'd give the packing 7/10, the lens 10/10.
