Lens Rack on Thingiverse

More of a novelty than anything, I will admit I am tempted to print one out:

That would work well for storing lenses in a drawer. Hmmmm. I wonder what this would cost to have printed?

Funny I have just been thinking about buying a bunch of cheap K mount caps off ali and screwing them to the back wall of my cabinet.

The lens-cap solution is far more flexible … you can adjust the spacing to fit in the lenses you particularly own, so, potentially, getting more in, rather than having to leave large areas of empty space around each mount "just in case"

I'll mount my Telyt 560mm on it once I print to check.

With a lead plate screwed into it. And a deep drawer!

Probably cheaper to holesaw a plastic cutting board and fix some cheap K-mount rear caps into the holes. Or maybe 3D print your own inserts just for practice or fun.

I'm still not sure why you'd want to do it, or more accurately what its practical use might be.

Or maybe buy a bunch of “as is” k bodies and teleconverters and salvage the mounts

I’ve been looking at putting lenses in drawers in furniture. Many are short enough to store in this way. It’s rigid and doesn’t let them flop around, doesn’t require padding, allows good air access to allow for dessicant trays, and seems easy to move lenses around as the collection changes. But I probably will use plastic sign materials to make dividers and join them with u pins.

This is more likely what I will use in the drawers:

This is a nice idea but it need a facility to be able to stack one on top of another, perhaps using long screws at each corner to be able to vary the height (because you couldn't just set another on top due to the different lengths of the lenses.

3D printing has gone way down in price. The OP's image shows o-rings, THAT might make things more complex and expensive but not by much.

I'd guess that printing this thing would cost a few tens of dollars.

As for me, when I grab a lens I want it to have a lens cap on, so I'd probably holesaw something and just insert the lens with its cap in it
