Pentax 100mm F4 Macro Compare to Fuji 90mm F2.0

Just a highly un Scientific photo fun comparison between my newly acquired $64 dollar Pentax A 100mm F4 macro lens and my $850 dollar Fuji 90mm F2.0 lens.

Can you tell which is which without reading the EXIF data?

It's rather obvious the El Cheapo lens vs. the NEW Fuji lens......or is it?

Same flower/time/shutter speed and F stop was close. All adjusted slightly in Capture 1 editing software.

I should also mention that the Fuji X-H1 was used for both lenses with a K&F Concept adapter for Pentax lenses.

Photo A

Photo B

I'll do one more after this.....

Which is more pleasing to the eye....Photo C or D?

Photo C

Photo D

I prefer A and D but the others are good too. Definitely not $800 better or worse.

no guesses from me - just excellent shots with the irises....

I'd be more interested in how the SMC A 100/2.8 macro fared against the Fuji....

My Pentax 100mm Macro F4 has done so well I've stopped looking to purchase the 100mm Macro 2.8.

I love this! These shots are lovely. The Pentax-A really gets it done.

I have become a user of older lenses. I keep a spreadsheet of old lenses rated 9.0 and above along with their going prices and a "value index" I created. With the exception of possibly a new auto-focus walk-around lens, I don't think I am a candidate for any more new lenses.

I actually like images B and D the best. I actually thought A and D were the Pentax lends due to the background slats being larger.
