Sigma 105 and a Promaster 1.7x TC?

Has anybody tried this combo? Will the Sigma 105 work with a non-Sigma TC?

Thanks!

Heather,
Make sure that the 105 rear lense element has clearance inside the converter or visa versa. I have been using a old Vivitar 3X converter with my 55mm Micro Nikkor for decades with good results. It gives me a 165mm that focuses very close. You may have a great combination. Good luck.

Dave

The reason that I'm asking in the first place is that I'm trying to decide between the Sigma 105 and the DFA100. Since the TC works just fine with my other Pentax-branded lenses, I know I won't have a problem using it with the DFA100, but I'm a bit concerned about the Sigma, having read posts about the issues related to using Sigma lenses and TCs together. If the Sigma doesn't work with my TC, then that would be a deal breaker for it...

I find that my non Sigma TC's work just fine with my Sigma lenses. As far as I know it is the Sigma TC's that have problems (because they really protrude out). I have no exp with this TC so I can't say for sure, but I bet if it works with your other Pentax lenses it would be fine with the Sigma.
