Thanks for the pointer. Especially with a 15% cashback this is a chance! Wonder where it will go.

I think the cashback program is on hold for the time being, or dead for good. Or am I missing it somehow? (Regardless, alas, it wouldn't apply to a non-BIN item.)

I see a credit card discount logo ... is that just me? Or do you all have such a credit card already?

Gotcha, I thought you were referring to the MS cashback. I never pay attention to those, since I definitely don't need another credit card! (Also, it tops at $30.)

Well, I had not seen that 30$ maximum yet. That makes it quite a little less interesting again.

When was that? Currencies tend to change quickly these days.

3 months ago.. But I know a guy who got a (new) DA*200 from our friends at prodigital2000 for total $1230.00 AUD using best offer last week. Even if you pay extra $200.00 the DA*200 is a way better investment than FA*200 IMO (:

Is that true? Few weeks ago I heard from several lucky guys owning both that if they had to choose they would keep the FA. Not the DA.

Besides, the prices you're referring to are pretty close to the second hand market place in the Netherlands. I saw a DA200 advertized here for IIRC 600 Euro. Couldn't buy after buying a FA*85 recently; but I had not seen the price that low before...

What people forget is when you buy a lens that is out of production & you lose the lens HOOD or Something breaks on it! You have a better chance of wining lotto than finding the part on used market! If my DA*200 gets the HOOD lost or something breaks! OK I will have to pay dollars to replace a HOOD or a repair! But cheaper than a new lens and spending my life looking on the internet for parts for an out of production lens (:

I think that applies to US citizens only... I tried to get some discount few days ago and it said it did not apply to me...

Likely it ends up like 80% of a new DA*200mm which has the same optical formula of FA* version plus sdm & weatherseal.
But some people still prefers that over the Vietnamese made DA*.
