Can I take these apart and fix them up? I'm quite handy, but I'm no magician.
I'd never opened up a lens before, but last night I opened up a Cosina 50/1.8 lens, my first ever, which took me 3 hours to put them back! Got the lens cheap to practice lens surgery. I took out each and every screw and small metal piece, all the glass elements too. Had some hard time putting the shutter blades back to order, almost gave up in the process, but I was glad that I put them all back in order. It's only after this that I know the control/movement mechanism of the aperture ring, shutter blades, focusing, aperture lever...
It's really not as hard as you think. The loose screw is most likely right under the decorative trim ring around the front lens element (with those words marked on), which can be easily taken off by using a rubber eraser (pushing the ring CCW w/ the eraser).
Just like I changed the light seals of my SuperProgram camera -- my first time ever, now I'm very confident to seal another camera or open up another manual lens
BTW, here is a link on how to strip down a Super Takumar 50/1.4 lens:

Good luck
