What's Coming

So I've got the K20 18-55 kit and 55-300 ED coming already (decided against the 16-45 and opted for the below).

Just ordered on my second order the 35mm f2.8 limited, and the 16-50 f2.8 ED (best suited for extreme conditions).

Unless I have missed some deals on the older lenses, this 4 lens combo seems to really cover any bases I will need done.

Any objections here to the lenses in this range?

Don't ever admit to that's all you'll need, LBA will have no where to go.

Well, once you use the 35ltd and the 16-50*, you'll likely ditch the kit lens. Then you'll realize that the IQ you get from the 55-300 isn't in the same league as the wider lenses, so you'll either go for the 50-135* or the 60-250*.

Or you'll love the 35ltd so much that you realize that shooting prime lenses is more your style. So you'll get the 77ltd, or just do the 21/40/70 set. Then you'll start looking for a fast 50...

I guess I don't understand why you would order the kit lens knowing you wanted the DA*16-50mm lens? The DA* covers basically the same focal length as the kit, plus it's weatherproof and has better IQ. As you will find out very soon, the DA 35mm LTD is better than all of the other lenses on your list.

Kit lens is light, and was only 50.00 more to add to the price of the camera, so to me it's nice to have an additional lens that light for another 50.00. Plus, I liked it.

My other brand is a huge collection, I like to have plenty to choose from to cover many different bases.

Ancy to try out the 35mm f2.8 LTD, it is once nice looking lens and lots of praise for it.

I think it's going to end up in one the possible scenarios above...

The new version of the kit lens seems very decent indeed. I've seen some before and after shots comparing the two lenses in the corners and borders (center was already good). It reminds me of the Canon 18-55 re-deux optically, but with a better build and features (front element doesn't rotate, much better focusing ring etc.). Focuses really fast too, pretty darn impressive.

I am looking at some of the manual focus lenses, such as the 58mm 1.4 Voigtlander ( I like manual focus lenses). Gonna be fun to get some shots done and compare them to my other kit on large prints.
