FA 50MM 1.2, and FA 28mm 2.8

I have a friend that has these lenses for sale for $100. Is this a good deal? I have seen the lenses and they are in very good condition.

Some considerations:

AFAIK, no AF version of the 50mm 1.2 was ever produced. Only the Pentax-A 50/1.2, which is MF. That runs much higher than the price you quoted. There is an FA 50mm 1.4 and 1.7 though...

I suspect it's actually a 50mm 1:2 instead, not the 50mm 1:1.2?? It's not uncommon for this misquote on Ebay auctions. I believe that price quote for both is a good one just for the FA28mm 2.8. I don't think the 50mm 1:2 is that well regarded:

If it's indeed a 50mm 1:1.2 plus the other lens, it's an excellent deal. Hope that helps?

Regards,
Marc

I'm going to guess the 50mm Is actually an FA50mm f1.4. You didn't say if it was $100 each or $100 for both. Either way as K100D says they are worth close to $200 per lens.

Yes as Marc says. If it's an M or A 50mm f1:2, then this lens is worth about $20.00 in the used market. manual focus and a basic fifty.

After I looked at the pictures of the lenses, the 28mm is an "A" series and the 50mm is a 1:2 "M' series. I think I will wait and keep looking for other lenses.

You need to figure out if its "A 1:1.2" or "A 1:2".

The M50/2 might not be worth anywhere near $100, but the A28/2.8 is.

A 28 f2.8 went for a higher price in the past. However, its purple fringeing ability is a lot less than Fa 28mm (Strange that they share similar optical design).

50mm f2 shoud not cost 100 US dollars. I remembered the days that it costs 15 US dollars for one and many pentaxforums members revealed plenty of remorse for me...

Fa 50mm f1.4 would be reasonable with the 100 US dollars price tag. Currently I see this lens being sold for a price higher than 200 US dollars lately.

I really envy you these lens prices in US. Here in the UK, that same lens on shelf of any shop would have asking price of £40 or higher (50 f2 would probably go for around £55-65, 1.7 for around £75 and f1.4 usually carries £99 price tag) and yeas I'm talking M&A incarnations prices!!!
Soooooooooooooooooooooooo envious...

Don't feel too bad! If the 50/2 M were on any kind of store shelf, it would be priced at $50 or above, you can guarantee it! Even if it was in crummy condition. I'm speaking solely of the cutthroat used market online when referencing prices

Not sure what country you are talking about, but that's definitely not the case in the US. It is priced at $20 or so in most pawn shops and used camera shops, too.

Not the one around where I live here in the states -- maybe people around here just like to rip people off.
