Pentax fisheye lens - suggestions?

What's a more affordable Pentax brand fisheye lens in either k or m42 mount (including Tukamar)

Perhaps the
SMC PENTAX-F FISH-EYE 17-28mm F/3.5-4.5 Lens

Did Pentax make a manual one, like in the M class

Suggestions please...

Addendum: I have the K-S2 camera, so I need something that works with APS-C cameras please...
Addendum: So for an additional question, should one avoid older manual lens since its fish-eye & might matter more (?)

In K-mount you have the

K 17/4 FE (manual focus/exposure)
A 16/2.8 FE (Manual focus/ Auto-exposure)
F 17-28/3.5-4.5 FE (Auto focus/exposure)
DA 10-17 3.5-4.5 FE (Auto focus/exposure)

There is one more... a semi-mythical K8.4mm/2.8 Fish-eye/Birds eye..... (never even seen a picture taken with one)

I am not up to date on used prices for these, but I expect the A 16/2.8 to be most expensive. And if you intend to use a fish-eye you need the optics to be clean and free from blemishes. Don't be tempted by one that is sub par. My suggestion is to give the 10-17 a go. On my K-1 I use it in crop mode.

I would not suggest using the others on an aps-c camera. You wont get the proper effect.

Thanks for the many suggestions.

And yes, I should have put it in my original post, I use the K-S2, so I need something that works with the APS-C camera - I didn't think about it, but with a fish-eye lens then it would matter much more with the crop factor of the camera body. I added this to my original post (thanks for that tip too!)

The lenses designed for full frame won't look very fishy on APS-C. The DA 10-17 will give you a range from strong fisheye effect to very mild. That makes it very flexible in use, so it's my favorite among fisheye lenses. At 17mm it can look just like a very wide lens in most photos. The autofocus is useful too, because details in the viewfinder are very small so manual focus is harder. The lens does have a lot of purple fringing but this has never bothered me. Generally this lens is available used from people who try it out and decide it wasn't for them.

Look at threads on fisheye lens photos for lots of examples. You can hide or exaggerate the effect with slight frame changes. It's also super easy to get your feet or fingers in the shot.

I currently have the K 17/4.0, and both the versions of the DA 10-17/3.5-4.5 (the SMC version is on permanent loan to my brother). I also have a full frame manual focus, automatic aperture Samyang 12/2.8, and owned the F 17-28/3.5-4.5 Fisheye Zoom for a while.

The only one I will definitely keep is the HD version of the 10-17. Its removable hood makes it a unique, almost circular fisheye at 10mm on the K-1, while at 15mm it gives a full 180º diagonal view. On crop it is the only one which will give a proper fisheye effect.

In addition, Sigma made two f/2.8 K-mount fisheyes - 10mm for crop, and 15mm for full frame. The reviews I have seen suggest they are both pretty good.

But I'd still recommend the 10-17

Thanks luftfluss and everyone else!
If it weren't for this forum, I would have probably bought the PENTAX-F

off of the auction site.

Because it is so affordable (can be picked up around $100).

But the 10-17 is still a good bargain, as I see them on the auction site for $150 and up. Well, the $150 has a spec of fungus, and no one likes to buy that, so I see they really go for around $200

Thanks everyone !!!

Another vote for the DA 10-17. It is a fun lens with minimal distortion at 17 mm. It is also small and light enough to stick in a coat pocket or your camera bag, just in case you need it.

I also have the Rokinon / Samyang 14/2.8, primarily for astrophotography. It is bigger and heavier, but takes nice pictures if you get a good copy. (There were some quality issues. I had to adjust my infinity stop, then it was fine.)

Samyang or Rokinison 8mm manual focus lens is a good option but I like the 10-17 more since it is a bit more flexible.

Yes. Are you familiar with the review database on this website?

I took this with the 10-17 on my K-1 in crop mode. So this is what you will get at 10mm on aps-c.
