I never used the K-1 for fast moving subjects, thus I did not have the experience.
Now it is all clear to me and a very important information as at current I am thinking to buy the 28-105.
Honestly I am really impressed with the 28-105. It's sharp, the auto focus is fast and very quiet, and it produces great images. It is MUCH better than any other "kit" lens I have ever used. When I got my K20D 15 years ago it came with the 18-55 and that was never a really good lens. I got some good shots out of it, but had to work hard. The 28-105 is in a different league in my opinion.
The only downside is the relatively slow aperture. You aren't going to be getting great low light shots, or super creamy bokeh with it, but that's not really what it's made for anyway. If the aperture is fast enough for you, it's really a nice walk around lens, if you're using it in good lighting. Throw it all on a mono pod and take it for a walk in the woods on a bright sunny day and it's going to be a ton of fun.
Check out KEH and MPB, and even Amazon for used lenses, you might be able to pick it up for much cheaper than it's MSRP.
Good luck!
