The pics of the Formula 5 28mm f2.0

As promised, I tried to get a hold of my buddy to get a shot of his Formula 5 135mm f1.8 to no avail. -Sorry!

Anyone know why that didn't work?

The link for the Mitake 135mm f1.8

However, I found an On-line pic of the Sun 135mm f1.8 (the Spiratone version is usually marked YS.): Spiratone/Mitake, 135mmf/1.8 on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Bought a Formula 5 28mm F2.8

I recently acquired a Formula 5 28mm F2.8 (for $12!), and this is the only thread on the web that discusses this lens in a K-mount. Not to beat a dead horse and revive a 3 year old thread, but I actually kind of like this lens, and it's probably not worth adding it to the review database. It's a useful focal length, somewhat fast, OK-ish sharp, and I don't have an FA31, so this will have to do. Colors definitely more subdued than my Pentax glass. A couple of my first shots. Only edits in Lightroom were for fixing the exposure, since I wasn't metering every shot, a couple of the best ones were too dark or too light. First shot wide open (I know I missed focus a little), the rest were around f5-8, don't really remember.

I don't know what you mean by "saves the Takumar..."
But I'm glad this is a good performer.
I would love to see photo examples tho, I am Trying to see shallow DOF photo examples taken with this lens.

Do you or anyone else think this lens is worth paying 150 dollars for tho?

Mel, You should put this lens in the Lens database on here.

Old thread buuuut,...

I went out lens buying yesterday, and along with the Sigma I wanted, I picked up a Formula 5 400mm f6.3 prime.
Needs a proper clean and there's something funky with the infinity focus, but at $20 (au), I ain't complaining.
Already makes for some interesting photos of our cats while I clean and service it.

No sir.. that is definitely not bad for $20 au
You should post some photos of the lens as well as a few examples when you get it cleaned up .
