Let's say ... Cannot choose only one, because of the different lens usage, so i will peek more than one.
At first, the SMC Takumar 35/2 (2nd version, with 49mm filter thread). Fast as required, easy to focus, a bit soft wide open but really sharp as soon as stopped down a little. The same sharpness of my Flektogon 35/2.4, but with the creamy bokeh of the Flektogon 35/2.8, and warm color rendering ...
Then, the Pentax-K 85/1.8, simply fantastic as short tele ... Maybe not sharp as the 85/1.4 or the 77/1.8 Limited, but surely a great performer (well, sometimes a bit too sharp for portraiture, showing all the "faults" of the skin) ...
Last, but not least ;-) ... the FA-43, which has replaced the Pancolar 50/1.8 on my K10D ...

Although the DA35 is really starting to grow on me (it does everything so well) and I have nothing but love for the FA50, I have to say the DA*50-135 has been my favorite lens to date. It doesn't do everything, but the things it can do are done better than anything else.

Either Fa*85/1.4 of FA*200/2.8 will be my answer next year. Haven't had both for longer than just a few weeks now, so for this year the winner is without a doubt:

I found I love the capacities of this lens for close telephoto work. Actually I like the length so much, that I am seriously considering a 1.8.... when I have the cash (which actually may take some time).

This lens is btw closely followed by the DA35Ltd.

Film - Super Takumar 85mm f/1.9
Digital - DA* 50-135mm f/2.8

But I haven't used many that I'd like to try. My DA* 16-50 and I have reconciled and are very much in love again, as well.

FA* 200/4 Macro ED [IF]... hands down or hands up...

Tough choice with the FA* 300/2.8 though...

It's got to be one of the four lenses that I use every day, now which one............................................................................... :ugh:

I think I'm going with SMC Pentax A* 85mm F1:1.4, as some of the other guys have already said, it just lives all the time on one of my bodies.

Great too with "pukka" dedicated hood MH-RA 67mm.

A 50mm f/1.7!

Best bang for the buck out there.

But if it had to be my most favourite regardless of brand, the title would have to go to the Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 50mm f/2.8

So many people have A* or FA 85mm's, I never knew!

Mine would be the FA 77mm limited or the M 85 f/2. Or maybe it's just the Super Tak 55 f/2!

I thought I have a problem with LBA. Are you having two copies of 77mm limited? I'll be damned if you still keep two copies. Excellent picture as that is my all time favorite primes. Not the 31, not the 21 but the insanely good 77mm
LBA? What's that?
The FA 77mm is great in subject isolation but I still miss my FA 43mm that I sold off some time ago. So I decided to get this.

Reading through an old Pentax lens manual, it actually recommends that we spend at least 3 months with a new lens in order to get familiar with the angle of view and the characteristics of the focal length. Although that advise was written at the time of people buying the 28mm and 135mm to supplement the normal 50mm lens, I find that advise holds true today as it did then. Only by putting a lens through its paces and shooting a lot with it can we be qualified to judge on its strength and weaknesses.

Definitely the A*85/1.4.

I used to own a lot of great Pentax glass and this is the lens I wish I could go back in time and stop myself from selling.

The number two spot would be the A*200/2.8 ED and the number three spot would be the A*20/2.8.
