Your next buy?

Which lens will be the next one to be added to your camera bag?

For me, I ain't sure yet, I have the A 50/1.7, but the aperture ring is faulty, gets stuck sometimes, since I use both on my K10D and a film body, I just can't leave it on A. I will probably replace it in the not to far future, maybe with the FA 43/1.9.

Or I will wait and get the DA 15mm and hope that the A 50 will last for longer, a real nice limited wide-angle would be awsome!

So what will be your next buy?

I don't know, but you can be pretty certain it will be from the 1960's and perhaps say Takumar on it somewhere.

Next on my list is the Sigma 105mm macro. I had some fun in the summer with a closeup filter stuck on my M50 which whetted my appetite for a real macro lens. I'll likely pick one up in the spring when there'll be lots of things to shoot with it.

It also happens to be the last lens on my 'must buy' list, not sure what I'm going to spend all my money on afterwards.

Good chance it will be the DA15 Limited when it comes out, unless by then I'm convinced to just get the DA21 instead. Or I might get impulsive and pick up a DA70 while waiting to see what the DA15 is like.

My (hopeful) plan:
1. DA15
2. DA*200
3. DA*55
4. DA*30

Because of economic insecurity, this could be stretched out over a *long* period of time.

If the 60-50 doesn't appear within the next couple of months, I'm going to write it off as a pipe dream and try to find some sort of A series 135mm and a 200mm lenses, probably the DA*.
As a matter of fact, I might just do it anyway.

Either the DA 15m ltd or a FA* 200mm macro and then an FA* 600mm.

Given I have bought 2 lenses in the last month, I cannot even talk lens purchase for a while, but...

1. Sigma 30mm f/1.4
2. Pentax 77mm f/1.8

Hmmm. Next buy??

Probably really don't need to buy anything....but.

Will have a look at the 60-250 when it arrives (preferring to be positive with the 'when' not 'if' )....but already have the sigma 135-400 & Tamron 70-300, so you can see what i mean by the need factor.

...and then there is the DA* 300, and the 50-135......and the....... (smacks self on back of head) need! think need!!

Cheers.

Second hand gear...

Since I just bought an M 135/3.5 (gave up on finding a reasonably priced K 85/1.8, 105/2.8 or 135/2.5)...

probably the little AF220T flash unit for my LX; pretty compact and useful for indoor grab shots, close range fill, and for getting some shots of the crowd when I shoot live music (pubs & clubs). It has tilt for bounce function as well.

Keeping it frugal for a while.

Hopefully the DA* 16-50 if I can find the funds for it at some point. I would prefer a used one to be sure that the copy is free of any QC problems. It would be my only 'modern' lens as everything else is K, A, FA or 6x7 format oldies.

I know I want a prime that's wider than the DA35 I already have. I'm leaning towards the DA21, but I haven't decided yet if I'm just going to save up for it and buy it or trade the DA35 for it. Once I get the DFA100 that should get here on Friday and start comparing it to the DA35, that'll help me make an informed decision as to whether or not to keep the 35. I currently use the 35 mainly for landscapes and macro, but I've discovered that sometimes 35 isn't quite wide enough for me and my landscapes, but I think the 21 should be just right. I've already got the 43 and will have the 100, which will make a nice prime kit.

Maybe I'll stop buying lenses for a while after that...one can hope.

A couple more things I'd like to add would be a new flash (Metz 48) and a small Bamboo Fun tablet.

As for bodies, it'll depend on what Pentax comes out with at PMA. I'm not really interested in upgrading to the K30 (or whatever the K20's successor will be), but if the K200's successor were to have some K20-like features (second dial, sensor, and pentaprism) in the K200-type body, I'd definitely be interested, as I prefer the ergonomics of the K200 over the K20. If something like that were to come out, I'd sell the K20 and get a K300.
