No, it is 1:2 - They got two things wrong, it's "A", not "M", and 1:2, not 1:1. But
I figured that there was a good chance it was actually this A 50 2.8 macro.

Took a couple shots at ISO 800, low shutter speeds under tungsten - performs
like a champ. Can't wait until it warms up (yet again I say that)

(These are more like 1:3 to 1:7)

Have to agree with Gus on this one. And Adorama probably made an OK profit on the lens also. The onliest one who lost (maybe) was the person who accepted what ever Adorama offered for it. I've sold lenses to Adorama, and they drive a hard bargin, but they are fair and you can dicker. In fact I think they like to dicker.

NaCl(I actually got $275 off my new 77 ltd with a DA 50-200 and a 35-70 Tamron kit zoom)H2O

Fantastic Jay!

We all win when Jay gets a lens because he always treats us to top quality shots with it.

To the OP: congratulations and have fun with it! You have just got yourself one of the sharpest lenses Pentax ever made. It's so sharp you could break your sensor in two.

Yes, I used to own the FA version of this lens, and that, the Viv 105, and my
current Sigma 70 2.8 macro are probably the sharpest lenses I've ever used.

People tend to think of 'sharpness' as just edge detail, but it's really a result of
larger resolving power - a sharper lens also usually shows more general color
detail, microcontrast, and usually is just better in every area of rendering. About
the only area it can be lacking is bokeh, and the FA 50 2.8 was pretty good in
that respect.

The A/F/FA 50 2.8 macro has been called Pentax's sharpest lens, along with the
A* 200 f/4 macro, so it's always nice to have one of these in your stable.

If it were only Spring.....
