FA43--you learn something new everyday...

I finally figured out that my FA43 did come with a hood! Until I perused some older threads and discovered that what I thought was a screw-on lens cap is actually 2 pieces--the hood with a push-on cap!

I'm glad I came upon this info, as I was about to order another hood for it; that saved me $40+.

Now that I've realized that I do have a hood for this lens, I want to keep it screwed onto the lens, but I'm afraid of losing the Pentax push-on cap, so I'd like to get another cheaper push-on cap for it. Have any of you done this, and if so, what size cap will fit the 43's hood the best?

A 52mm A or F/FA style lens cap will fit.

Hi Heather,
Had my 43 since June and had similar concerns re: cap, but after a trip and a lot of use I still have the cap and dont look like losing it ....err....the cap that is.

I had the contrary impression: for quite a while I didn't know the hood was un-screwable, it came screwed on so tight.
