SMC Pentax 67 55-100mm F4.5 for Pentax 6x7 MLU - worth buying?

Hey all!

Recently, I discovered the SMC Pentax 67 55-100mm F4.5 lens for Pentax 6x7 MLU. Got a bit tired of carrying multiple lenses for Pentax 6x7 as they are bulky and heavy and this looks like a solution to my travel, landscape, and architectural photography. Upon researching, I found that this lens was highly regarded for its sharpness and overall quality. Since it's a zoom lens, I am curious to know how it compares to prime lenses. Will I experience excellent sharpness at all focal lengths? Are there any notable issues such as heavy vignetting, distortion, or undesirable contrast? Furthermore, apart from its bulky nature, are there any other concerns I should be aware of?

I also noticed that this lens was priced at $1000 approximately 13 years ago, but now it is listed on eBay for $300 so if the lens is really great I might get it. I currently own a 45mm and a 75mm shift lens. Thanks

Forum member "desertscape" has used it for his calendar work, with great results.

I'd recommend using it on a tripod, due to it's heavy weight. (With MLU on slower shutter speeds) Yes the price has dropped over the past few years, while the 67 105/2.4 had gone up in price by hundreds. (It all depend on what 6x7 lens is trendy now)
