Which 135/35 or 85/2 for bokeh ?

From the bokeh thread I understood these two old lenses offer probably best bokeh. When I searched on KEH I found so many versions of the lenses.

Which is the version that is generally recommended?

I am looking for sharp lens with excellent bokeh at reasonable price and don't mind manual lenses

I would suggest trying the Pentax SMC-A* 85mm f1:1.4 and the SMC-A* 135mm f1:1.8, both work well for me.

Which 135 are you talking about, one of the Taks, or the M/K/A 135 3.5?

Personally I like the M 85 f/2's bokeh, but that's my taste. They're both pretty good.

To paraphrase Forrest Gump...

"Lenses are like a box of chocolates...you really have to try one to see how it tastes..."

Steve

BTW...My favorite 85/2 for sharpness/bokeh is the one I own; the ponderous, archaic Jupiter-9

I blame JSherman and Mike Cash.

I hardly get the time to use these wonderful lenses ... but i am making a New Year Resolution to do so this year.

And these lenses are very affordable indeed. Especially for the image quality .... and with me being a pretty amateur photographer ... imagine these in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing.

I forgot ... the Jupiter-9 is a gem as well ... I don't have it ... but every shot I have seen from it is a winner.
