I went round and round on this one. I got a bunch of great feedback from a lot of you, and in the end I went with a 31mm Limited and a DA16-50. I could have gone cheaper but after researching them for several days, these were the lenses I wanted. And I found them for reasonable prices. The QC on the 16-50 concerns me, but if I can get a good one, I believe I'll like this lens. I still may get a 55-300, but I wanted to get a good prime and semi wide zoom first.

I hope you curb your lens buying urges (I'm not saying I have, after more than 30 years of serious picture-taking) and just work with those for a while.

You'll develop a sense for what's missing, which will only be honed by taking pictures with what you have. A wide range of subjects from landscapes to portraits will help you decide if you want to concentrate in one or two areas.

Be warned, though, lens buying can be highly addictive! On the other hand, if you buy second-hand, you don't lose so much if you re-sell.

Got all three.. very good lenses.

Careful with sample variations but with good copies.. you won't regret it.
