Cleaning an old lens inside

I have a RICOH RIKENON lens 50 mm f1.7, it has dust inside is it worth trying to take to peices to clean ?

Rikenons have a pretty good reputation. Some are even highly sought after (XR Rikenon 50/2 and 55/1.2). If the dust is minor, it might be good to simply take a few photos and see if you like the lens. If the dust is major and you want an adventure, you can attempt the disassembly knowing that you can replace the lens for less than $50 on eBay.

well I took some photos of butterflies and was amazed at the sharpness considering it was manual focus
