Help with appraising screwmount stuff

My colleague has asked me to sell his late father's camera equipment. I can handle the newer stuff (Super Program, K-mount lenses, AF200T), but I know squat about screwmount. The equipment is almost all in excellent shape, except where noted.

Any help would be appreciated appraising this stuff. That is, what should it be sold for? I have checked KEH, fleabay, and some other places, sometimes getting an inkling into value and other times not. In short, I'd value the judgments of folks on this site. Naturally, I can post photos if that would help.

1) Vivitar 28mm f2 Auto wide-angle screwmount lens, #22833682, with 55mm Vivitar VMC Skylight 1A, front and back caps, and hard black leather case.

2) Vivitar 75-205mm f3.8 close focusing auto zoom screwmount lens (the two ring version, not the one-ring version), serial # 22608762. Comes with 58mm Hoya UV(O) filter, front and back caps, original lens hood, and hard black leather Telesar case. One problem: the part of the zoom ring that one grips rotates freely from the rest of the zoom ring.

3) Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 55mm f1.8 screwmount lens, serial #4674939, with front cap and Vivitar UV-haze 49mm filter.

4) Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 135mm f3.5 screwmount lens, serial #5180446, comes with 49mm Olympus Skylight 1A filter (with its original case, front and back caps, the original lens hood, and original black leather lens case.

5) Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic SPII camera body, serial #5069861, with strap, manual, and original black soft leather everready case. Still waiting on a battery to test the meter, but everything else seems to be well so far.

6) Lastly, the one Kmount item I can't seem to get a value for: Takumar-A 28mm f2.8, serial #5693319, with front and back caps and a Vivitar Skylight 1A 49mm filter.

On a non-Pentax note, if anyone knows anything about classic camera bodies, there's also an Exakta VX with Biotar 58mm f2 lens, an Exa II with a Meritar 50mm f2.9 lens, and a Kodak 35 RF with Anastigmat Special 50mm f3.5 lens.... I don't know enough to adequately test these for functionality.

you can check the lens review database here on the forums. it gives an average price based on reviewers listed purchase price (though it wont help you on the Takumar-A 28mm) Pentax Lens Review Database - Main Index

I own the 135 3.5 with everything you listed. I paid 96 USD for it and im currently trying to sell it in the marketplace for 60 USD with no luck. I would assume average price would be around 60 USD but you might have better luck right now at say 40 USD.

I would guess the average price on the 55mm 1.8 would be around 35-40 USD.

Many thanks to those who have offered assistance so far. Others are welcome to chime in.

Lowell, here's what I need to do before anything else. I need to get to my colleague a list of equipment matched with suggested prices, get his approval, ask him how much negotiating room (if any) he will give me, and only then begin to sell the equipment. While I'll be putting up all the Pentax stuff on our Marketplace, you officially have first dibs on the Vivitar 28mm.

yes it is K mount. its an 'A' lens Takumar bayonet. there were two versions that I know of a 'K' version and a later 'A' version.

if the light seals/mirror foam and meter are in working order I would give a rough (very rough) estimate of 100-130 USD

If you have the case, etc, it's well worth $60!!

Maybe everyone here who's in the market for one already has one... And the economy is really getting whacked now.

I can get them all day long over here in Japan for $30 apiece. The 135/3.5 and the 55/1.8 are the most common Takumars available for auction here. The 55/1.8 can be had for $15-20. For the benefit of the OP I will point out that prices tend to be a bit lower for Takumars in Japan, as there is no real shortage of them here.

It should go much cheaper than the SMC Pentax-A 28/2.8 since the Takumar bayonet has no proper multicoating. Or so I've been told.

Sometimes the prices stateside aren't all that much different. I got a Super-Multi-coated 1:1.8 55mm on ebay about 3 weeks ago for $14.50.

Seamuis: I was tempted by your 135/3.5. I picked up a 135/2.5 for $11.00. Don't know if I needed it, or how much difference mine is from yours (other than a stop). I'm an absolute newbie about the takumars, but I'm trying to learn.
