Very nice shots. I just wish they made this as an "A" series lens. I'd pay extra for that. But then they would need to have the programming data to do so and that takes time and effort to either figure out or buy from Pentax.

Peter

they do make it in A series.

Mine is branded Vivitar Series 1, they are also branded Bower, and a few other names.

You can get one from B&H or Adorama in NY.
see the following for shots I have posted previously

Do you mean something else?

I did some net sniffing, no warnings re duff Samyang website and they emailled me the local distributor's email in Oz. He knocks a bit off the Ebay price for Samyang lenses which tend to list on Ebay as no name lenses. Part of the catalogue includes their 8mm fisheye lens which is A stopped.
Dunno if that's any help. I can't say I'll rush out just yet for this lens as I'm waiting on a Jupiter 9 and blown the LBA fund once again.

Holy crap, she's cute! Lots of personality. Forget the lens, I'd rather have her as a model!

As I asked this before :-)

I think the lens is very good for the money spent, BUTTTTTTTTTT ?

Can the cheap brass logo be taken off without pealing the paint on the lens underneath. That brass logo looks incredibly cheap !

I can vouch for that. The Rokinon version is an "A" version and recently sold on ebay for $254. I believe the price has inched up some lately.

I was unsure, from the adds because the photos from B&H showed K mount and Adorama showed at the time KA mount, so I personally went to B&H while on a trip to NY and when I playes with the lens, it was clearly a KA mount so I bought it. I would recommend seeing it if you are unsure

it's listed under vivitar although the one actually reviewed is the samyang version.

the vivitar version has some cosmetic differences, color of stripes, the detail on the focusing ring rubber, etc byt no main construction or optical differences.

This len almost made me mad. This was my second time to use it and it was broken. The aperture pole is blocked by something in side. So no matter what I set to aperture, it always comes out f1.4.

Anyone know how many brands this 85mm has been released as? I believe I've seen 3-4 already.
