I bought Voigtlander R3A and R4M lately. This type of camera really changes your perspective about things. I feel reborn by using this gear and try to remember the days of using films. Very enjoyable to go back to the roots.

I think Voigtlander Bessaflex TM takes Takumar lenses. I should have bought a copy and test it out.

noticed you out on RFF
i've been lurking around there more lately, need more photo talk and i'm tired of dpr, it's not fun / informative to read that stuff any more. like this forum, a lot of people are fast to respond and their gallery is truly wonderful and they have a tonne of different topics going back years and years.
voigtlander has done an excellent job w/ their rangefinder line, however there do seem to be problems with QC. makes me wonder why no one ever complains about the QC on the 58's.

It is so much fun to explore and find joy in using various gear. I think it is worthwhile to work on something new all the time, in terms of photography or camera gear. It is all fun.

VL Nokton 58mm has quality control issue? I think there are weaknesses with the lens but I thought the optical design is ancient and the lens contruction is rather well built most of time?

the 58mm nokton doesn't but for the rangefinder line there seem to be minor issues w/ build quality and decentering. the build quality impression i get from lurking and reading, the decentering is from reading stuff at Welcome to ReidReviews

I've heard spotmatics have better build quality than the bessaflex TM. A nice one with a CLA is still a lot cheaper than the TM. I just got an R3A this weekend, so far, lots of fun.

Thanks for the bump K100d... I probably should of thought of posting something here, but I've been spending most of my time on RFF recently. Not that you guys aren't great too... I've just been playing w/ the M3 more, and would love to see someone getting some use out of these lenses, instead of them just sitting around here.
