Probably my last shot - don't fancy being able to get more detail from any lens I am going to own any time soon.

Blue moon from last night. Orion EON 120ED at prime focus so not a real camera lens.

Moon rise over Signal Hill. St. John's NL. Sears 300mm f5.6, 1/160s on tripod @f5.6. I was mostly pleased with the planning of this shot, as I used the Photographers Emepheris and had the location pinned down to within 100ft of where I needed to be. Exposure dropped 1/2 a stop in post.

It has been too hazy here for maximum detail shots, so I haven't been paying attention to the moon. Yesterday I had the camera set up with my Tokina 400/5.6 to shoot a plane (unsuccessfully) in the morning. As we came back from dinner, the moon was just rising and it was really yellow. I dashed inside, got the camera and tripod, and took a few shots. The original was kind of boring except for the moon so I pasted in a plane from the earlier test shots. I know, it doesn't really help.

Some awesome shots here folks. I can almost see the flag.
Here's one I snapped with my X70 bridge camera the other day. Incidentally, the X70 is for sale. Got my eye on a X5.

And here's a cropped version.

Took last night. Skywatcher Equinox 80mm/f=500mm telescope was on a tripod with 25mm eyepiece. The camera was handheld on manual mode, no lens attached. Projection focus.

Could not resist and recently got a bargain-priced Sigmonster 800/5.6 HSM for my Nikon D600. Here's the moon with the Sigma 2x Teleconverter (my tripod was not quite up to the task and I think the mirror shake didn't help either, but still not bad, eh?)

I can't top what I'm seeing here, but I'm a fan of moon shots.
This is mine. I used a Pentax K110D with an old Spiratone mirror based 500mm film lens
f8
1/350th
200iso

Trial and error said to not use the 2x. Its too blurry with it.
This is the supermoon of 9-8-14 we just had.

This is my attempt shooting the super moon Aug 10 using my K-01 with an old M42 mount Bushnell 400mm F6.3 tripod mounted @ 1/500 and ISO 200 (after several beers). I sharpened it up and increased contrast in Silkypix a little.

Been a while since I posted a photo, but the sky was nice and clear in Houston the other night and I had to see how stable the new Sirui carbon fiber tripod was. Quite pleased! K5 w/ Pentax 60-250mm lens, heavily cropped, with some exposure and luma noise adjustments in Lightroom.
