I have find a website in sweden where I live
that sells a huge stock of old pentax lenses.

But now I need to ask the important.

I know a lot of pentax lenses and I know that
the old 42:screw lenses can be placed on a brand new
DSLR, but to my big suprise I saw that there are much
brands that use the 42:screw.
for example:

Pentax M42
Chinon M42
Fujica M42
Mamiya M42
Praktica M42
Yashica M42

Also Other brands using Pentax PK (same as pentax mx)
for example:

Takumar PK
Astron PK
Cosina PK
Expert PK
Kiron PK-A
Makinon PK
Panagor PK
Sigma PK
Soligor PK
Tokina PK-A
Vivitar PK-A
Pentax PK (A &M)

Not quite sure what PK means...

My question is if it is posible that I could use the lenses of all these brands on a pentax DSLR (of course with a adapter), or if it is some kind of differens between the M42, screws, k-bajonetts (or whatever) from pentax and other brands?

I would love a answer

....anyone??

yes. M42 is universal, though you will need an M42 - K-mount adapter in order to screw them into your DSLR body. These will work easiest in Av mode. K-mount is universal (PK = Pentax K?). These will just attach to your DSLR, but work in various modes of operation only depending on if the aperture is pre-set (Av, or M and green button combo), auto (minor surgery required to remove auto pin or shoot wide open only, as previous) or PK-A, which engages the contacts associated with body controlled aperture and metering (all modes available).

lenses that are M42 meet a specific thread standard in terms of diameter 42mm and also in therms of threads per mm (i forget now the exact thread pitch) but all M42 lenses are mechanically interchangeable, with one exception.

The exception is that the registration distance from the lens mount to film plane may change slightly. this can give you the ability to focus slightly beyond infinity (no real harm) or not to focus exactly to infinity (a real pain).

There are several types of M42 to K mount adaptors, some of which have a flange on them, the origonal pentax adaptor has no flange. The flange will limit pentax screw mounts from focusing to infinity, but may work properly with third party lenses. There is also a non pentax flangeless adaptor which works well, ecept that the lens orientation is not exactly vertical.

Any lens that is PK is the origonal pentax K mount and will mount and function on a DSLR within the limits defined in the manual, and discussed here many times.

ANy lens that is PK-A means it has contacts to tell the camera body maximum and minimum apature and an "A" position which allows the camera to control apature. Again they all work on pentax DSLRs to the limits described in the manuals

As for Leica lenses they are an M39 (39mm) mount and there are adaptors available to mount them (convert them) to M42 and perhaps K mount, although I don"t know about the registration distance to advise if they can focus to infinity or not

Thank you so much for the answers. The problem with focus sharp can be fixed by the correct-lenses function in the k20d right? or am I wrong?

But my god....it's so many lenses, and even if maybe not everyone of them are good I will enjoy see the old result from a cocina lens from the old days haha

Any other brands have K or m42 lenses ??

There's no inherent problem regarding Leica lenses focusing to infinity on a Pentax K camera. Leica R expects the lens-sensor distance to be 47mm while the Pentax K camera offers 45.46mm. So with no spacing adjustment, the Leica lens will focus a little beyond infinity on a Pentax K camera.

they are kind of expensive, check out blocket.se or tradera(ebay, sweden)instead. I have seen many old lenses go for nothing there.
I think 2500 for a A 50/1,4 is stupid since a new FA50/1,4 goes for 2600.

Don't forget T-Mount; that's M42 but it's 0.75mm pitch whereas the Pentax is 1.00mm. I found out the difference the hard way many years ago. Fortunately it was an adaptor I had to take the hacksaw to.

I got the leitax adaptor and Voe is working on a review and testing section on some of my leica lenses

35/2 50/2 and 90/2

Voe spoke of getting a summilux 50mm. I am really tempted to get one too.
