I'll have to play around with that a little more and see if I can replicate the same!

On a sunny day I can just set hyperfocal on f8 and walk the street without worrying about focus lock delay or miss.

guys, seriously why do you do this...
Now I feel like taking bus downtown and get that lens! Some great shots here,
just one Q for everybody: How noticable is the barrel distortion?/How much PPing (debarelling) you need to do?

It all depends on what you have on the sides of the image. I believe this is no problem shooting landscapes. In the city, with lots of parallel lines, it will be quite visible. look at the corner in on the left side:

As a coincidence, I'm just looking at PTLens ($25.00) and the correction is ' just a click away':

This is with the trial version; you can try it out on ten photos. Seems like a solid investment to me.

Quite remarkable to see the image straighten out .

I do about a 3% correction in Photoshop, and have it set up as an Action. You have to crop the image slightly afterward, but I'm pretty happy with the results. I don't hesitate to shoot architecture with the DA21.

I took this lens on a trip to Australia recently, and it performed really well. It's not the sharpest landscape lens but I love the contrast, speed (yes, 3.2 is plenty fast on 21mm), build, and convenience. It really is a perfect walk-around lens.

(missed focus a tiny bit I'm afraid)

(cropped, obviously)

Small and subtle enough to hold at your side while walking and take quick snaps from the hip.

test photos

I think I have to turn the contrast down on my camera... the pink seems unnaturally brigtht...very weird doing close ups with this lens... also apologies, not sure if you can tell on the web pic, but I have a back focus issue, so the leaves behind the flowers are in focus.... but they're really sharp
