Maybe a Transparent Pentax K-m is not such a crazy idea after all...

I always thought transparent lenses/bodies would be an interesting idea, but I think they might convey a sense of fragility.

That would be such an awesome idea! The little geek in me would kill to have a useable transparent camera.

Imagine seeing all the guts without having to open up the body.. the only thing concealed would be the optical path (mount - mirror - shutter - pentamirror - eyepiece). Then again.. that may ruin most of the effect.

I could see a Panasonic G1 looking like that, though.

This lens was originally a part of a transparent camera+lens combo. I think it was the PZ-10, or maybe the PZ-1p. Anyway, it was a transparent (well, sort of) camera.

How about a transparent 110?

Remember Apple Macintosh had that as a style in the late 90s for a couple of years and they were followed by a lot of oher companies. You could get all sorts of computer gear with transparent body shells. - still some around.

hmmm... i dont like it... it might seem cool but transparent plastic just makes it look cheap - that's what i think about it anyway..

You make a good point. The transparent version actually adds a bit of class and distinction to the lens, which is otherwise a great optic.

I have, but I can get a cheaper build quality compared to that. I have a Cosina-branded AF lens.

They have. Some of their representatives use them for vendor training and presentations. I doubt you could purchase one though. I imagine it's a bit of a collector's item.
