OK, so maybe not, but had to do this *bay listing justice

You have to love that place. Sellers can claim whatever they want, and I'm sure some people believe them....

Direct quote from listing:

"AVAILABILITY: PARTICULARLY RARE TO FIND, THIS LENS IS THE BEST ZOOM LENS EVER MADE BY PENTAX ASAHI OPTICAL COMPANY. "

Listing:

PENTAX SMC A 35-70mm 35 70 PK K KA BAYONET NIKON SMC-A

Oh, and it "HAS BEEN TESTED WITH ACCURACY." I'm sold!

Just wanted to share gave me a little chuckle inside.

That is so laughable. It even has a "PROVENIENCE"

PROVENIENCE: MADE IN JAPAN BY ASAHI OPTICAL COMPANY

That's a new twist as well. I wonder if each one is signed by the engineer? It's a good lens but.....

I do like that lens. Now that I know it is the best ever, I like it even more. And particularly rare to find! Wow, I will treasure my copy, even if it has not been tested with accuracy.

The best part of all is that it fits both Pentax and Nikon! Woo! Hoo!

I can't believe I sold mine!

I used to see a listing for the Panagor PMC 90/2.5 macro lens that I have, with an over-the-top description and $1300 BIN. They would keep relisting it when it didn't sell. I showed my wife how brilliant I was to get mine for less.

"SOME VERY LIGHT SPOTS INSIDE - WHICH DON'T AFFECT THE IMAGES IN EVERY WAY." (emphasis partly mine)

So do they affect "the images" in some way?

Nope but they do effect all the other lenses in your camera bag. The spots (fungus??) will spread the goodness to all your gear.

Precisely why there are other 2 auctions on eBay selling the same thing.
