We ALL need more practice!! That's somehting that we can never get enough of. At least not me!!

These are pretty good shots for that lens. Like the colors of the clear blue sky against that dove!

Only you can decide if you need to return it. If it fits what you need and you like it, it didn't cost "that" much!

thanks gl for the compliments. it's been awhile since i used SLR (pentax mx way back in year '79-'80). and i sure need more practice. i know i might keep this one. the problem is once i keep it i am for sure will be wanting something else like 14-45 or 21mm ltd. darn there goes LBA.......

Cruiser,

LBA, I don't know about that yet. GAS though? Yeah, that's for sure!

I like the shots - they've got some great colour. The blue sky as Greg pointed out, the green Kermit is dead on, and the rose is really nice!

Are you using bright or natural for your colour settings on your camera?

But you would want those other lenses regardless as there is no way to cover that range with a 70-300. In fact, you really must have them - at least one of them. Don't fight it. I'd go with the more versatile, highly rated 16-45.

I've decided the 12-24 would be nice even though I have the 10-17 and an 18-50. I can justify it because the 12-24 is "square" while the 10-17 is, of course, "fisheye" :-) But, it costs 2/3 as much as all my other lenses combined, so maybe I will snap out of it...unless I get a good tax return.
