Soligor 250mm f/4.5 in M42?

Anyone ever heard of this? I've only heard of them in T-Mount, but I've got someone interested in selling one and he claims it's M42 (says he screwed it onto a Spotmatic SP500 with no trouble).

T-mount does mean that it can be adapted to other mounts. Just see it as a very early adaptall mount. You can even buy a T-mount to K-mount adapter.

Oh, I know there are adapters. I'm just curious as to whether this lens was ever made in M42. He's certainly not using an adapter in screwing it onto his SP500, but the difference in thread pitch is so small that I'm thinking maybe he managed to get a T-Mount onto his M42 body.

Doesn't it sound more plausible that the seller just does not know how to unscrew the T mount? I had a T mount lens but did not even know about that because it's not at all that obvious.

Waking up at old thread.. BUT

Yesterday I actually bought a Soligor 250mm f/4.5 with m42 mount..
but I guess they made different screw-on mounting rings as mine is
secured with 3 (well 2.. one was missing) tiny screws.. but I can live
with that for $27..

I have one of these in M42 mount. The M42 mount on mine is silver though. The glass is near mint condition, practically no visible marks on it, and the body is very good. I even got the original leather lens case.

It came along with a Spotmatic body, Super Takumar 50/f1.4 and a Vivitar 35/f3.5. I used it for the first time a couple weeks ago, and I was surprised how sharp it is, even wide open and handheld, on my K-5. The Spotmatic and these 3 lenses came from my uncle, who bought the body and Super Tak new in the mid-60's. Yes, I am only the 2nd owner

Therīs a discussion over at mflenses.com regarding this lens.
According to this tread, the following manufacturers has been made this lens.

Tamron, Komine, Tokina and Tokina again for the auto-version.

Got mine yesterday (Komine-made) I just tested it out in bad light condition with iso 4500 indoors but the pictures came out nice and sharp. Waiting to go out with it this weekend. I must say I thought all Soligor was crap, but this has changed my opinion about that.
By the way, mine was M42.

Soligor 250/4.5 - any thoughts?Soligor 250/4.5 - any thoughts?

There is a Soligor f=450mm 1:8 here all black with a matt aluminum M42 mount held on by 2 screws.
Actually that lens is in good shape, I don't know if I will ever get to use it though.

Also a Soligor f=135mm 1:2.8 with a black M42 mount. It has done a million miles, probably not worth worrying about.

I really need to get out and shoot with mine. The leaves are turning color now, maybe this week is a good a time as any.

By the way, mine has two "aperture" rings, and does not have the O-C ring. It's straight M42, not a T-mount. Anyone know which version I have? I will try to get some pics later.

IF it has a H before serial, seems to be the code for Komine.
Tamron was first out with T-mount.
Later models with chrome ring, tokina.

Says in the link i provided to a discussion in mflenses.com

Wouldnt know then. Mine looks the same as posted in mflenses-forum and identified as Komine.
But the best way is to take some pictures and see if you like it.

Mine looks exactly as yours in design so i think they are both made by Komine.
The only difference is the color of the mounting ring and that could perhaps be that mine is a little older in production line or a replacement part? (my serial is H25853)
Another difference is the ring controlling the aperture blades, similar to russian designed Helios and Jupiter there is one ring controlling the min and max aperture and a ring that opens and closes the aperture blades between wide and chosen stop down. Mine says just C----O and yours has numbers high to low.

Do you also have 15 ap blades?

This is how mine looks like, the photo is taken from the mflens forum but mine looks identical in every detail.
