A great lens

No question, this is a great lens representing all the K virtues. I would not mind to sleep with them A pure gem from the pre ED and pre AL era. Zeiss one could be optically better, but it is a newer design.

A great lens, mine is sharp (enough) from f2.5. Only downside is quite heavy CA wide open.

Any one seen one like this?

I found this on ebay tonight, look at the colors and the 52mm thread. I've never seen a K 135 f2.5 that looks like this.

looks like a non-SMC Pentax Takumar K mount version. not the SMC Pentax K version.

Yes, it is. Not a great lens, although usable.

That would make a nice addition to my collection. They just don't make them like they used to.

my take

While the f1.8 is great, it is perhaps overpriced. It is in the same price range as the Zeiss one. It is a result of supply and demand. Most buyers are perhaps collectors...

Already had the lens for 10 months but didn't use it too much since I bought it. Surely will use it more now, just have to get the hang of using a 135mm lens.

Which is a shame, as the A*135 is a fabulous lens which deserves to get used...

I don't mean to take away from the great work in this thread, and really many of the excellent shots shown here reflect more the talent of the photographers, but I have owned both the K135/2.5 and A*135/1.8 (at different times, mind you) and the A*135 is truly deserving of its reputation. The K135/2.5 is no slouch either, but it is 2nd best behind the A*135 amongst the Pentax 135's.

Here is a topic I started a while back on the A*135. Later on it also contains some comments about the other 135's, including the K135/2.5.

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/87407-my-revie...ning-long.html

That said, the K135/2.5 is an excellent performer and I still wish I had mine.
