Randy, after reading this I realized how much you might be regretting not picking up those 28's I got. I think it is the range you are looking for.

Hang tight, my friend! I've been looking around town ever since and I will find you something.
thank you everyone so far for the valuable input. much appreciated!!

Alvin, I have no regretts as far as the 28mm lenses...anything for a friend
I do have my sigma 17-70 that will more then do a great job....
this post is more about putting "feelers" out on what is a good lens to buy in the future.
but if you find a good wide angle, don't be afraid to let me know.

Look for an old 16mm or 17mm prime. There are bound to be some K mount or M42 decent primes laying about.

Randy,

I lost track of this thread, and I'm in bigtime catch up mode. I'm guessing you might be looking for a fisheye right now (Zenitar? I've got the 10-17!), but I don't want to feed both of our LBA's right now, nor do we want to upset our significant others

BTW - my wifey found out about the lenses and finally drummed up the question - how much? She was surprised when I told her I got them for very attractive prices. So thank you again
