FA 24-90 aperture problem

The apeture on my FA 24-90 has failed for no apparent reason. Adjusting the aperture ring from closed to wide open may or may not move the aperture one or two stops at most.

Anyone else have this problem or a recommendation on sending the lens back to Pentax for repair?

TIA

Does it appear that the aperture blades have any lubricant or oil on them? They should be clean. When the lens is off the camera and at a small aperture, can you gently flick the lever and see the blades open? Here it would cost me about $100 to have the blades cleaned and back in shape.

You may want to email Eric here Home and see if he can repair the lens. he does great work.
