Yesterday I bought myself two incredible zooms. DA 17-70mm f/4 and DA* 50-135mm f/2.8
All of you have seen picture of them or own them yourself, so I'm not posting any pictures of them

After starting with some zoom lenses I decided to go for primes, now I have changed my mind, again

THEN: DA 16-45/4, DA 21/3.2, DA 70/2.4, FA 28/2.8, Sigma 24-70/2.8 EX, Tamron 70-300/4-5,6 (Photostuff marked red in my signature, that's stuff I'm selling)

NOW:The best/perfect setup; DA 12-24/4, DA 17-70/4, DA* 50-135/2.8 and FA 35/2 as a normal/fast prime lens.

My dog, taken with DA 17-70/4

Random stuff/garbage, taken with DA*50-135/2.8

Hello,

My contribution to the thread with a Schacht Travenar 90/2.8 ... Bought almost a month ago, but didn't have the time to take sample pictures up to now ...

Compared to my Pentax-K 85/1.8 ...

At f/8 ...

At f/5.6, with light source behind the camera ...

If someone is interested in more sample pictures, the full res (10Mp) set is at M42: Schacht Travenar 90 f/2.8 - a set on Flickr

Cheers

These are from a new to me SMC Pentax-M 135 f/3.5. I've had it for a week now but the crappy weather has had me tied up with snow removal. Today I finally took a break and went out and took some pictures.
The first is Rockwell Falls on the Hudson River and the other is some local kids playing hockey.

I got a few new toys today. Two packages: one kit (camera + lenses) and one stand alone lens. Many of you would agree with me that it's a good day for me!

F 100/2.8 Macro
F 24-50/4
F 70-210/4-5.6

K 24/2.8

Unfortunately (!!!), there is a little hazing in the 100 macro , but I'm hoping I can have it cleaned. It appears to be before the aperture blades where there is no element group, so I don't think it is separation, which couldn't be fixed. I haven't really determined if there is any effect on IQ, but I think it's OK for now, especially for small aperture macro shots where more DOF is needed.

Everything else is very nice. Sorry, no interesting test shots yet...not enough light left in the day.

I love your dog NorthPentax!
Here's one I took of Spike this morning with my new 77Ltd. I've had it for a month or so but have had little chance to shoot it. This thing is a razor, scary sharp.

This was taken a couple of weeks ago when we were in the midst of an incredible snow event.

Here's my first m42 lens, a super tak 28mm F3.5. Now I'm only waiting for the adapter to arrive so I can mount it on the K10D.
Hopefully I can pick it up on Monday and test the lens.

Solaris,
that lens looks serious!

Eaglerapids,
the landscape shot's got awesome colors and real 3D qualities - still too stingy for this lens :-)

Here's one from an M42 Cosinon Auto MC 2.8/135 on K100D, another fleamarket folly.

and the lens as it is:

Best, Georg (the other)

FA 43mm limited

I was opening the mail today, and found among the assorted bills and junk, a small dense box. After grinning stupidly for a minute, I decided to make sure it was what I thought it might be. That gray/silver Pentax box inside only widened my grin (was that also a 12 year old girl giggling?). That box contained a new FA 43mm limited that I had ordered a few days ago. I hadn't planned on buying one this soon, but I used the possible rising prices as an excuse. I haven't had a chance to test it out yet, but I can't wait to see what it can do. On my K20d it makes a nice compact little package. I wish that I had gotten in from work earlier. When you are a contractor, and there is water from an unknown source running across someone's lawn, that kind of takes priority. Anyway, I should get a chance to try it out tomorrow. It looks like a light work day, and I may exercise my "boss" rights and slip away a little early!

I've got a A*200mm f4 Macro being shipped out from Poland tomorrow and you better believe I'll be showing it off when it gets here. I won't be able to really use it for what I bought it for until the spring thaw, so I guess I'll just have to use it as a model until then.

FA 43/1.9 Limited (in black)

FA 31/1.8 Limited (in black)

F 1.7x AF adapter (LN- from KEH, at a steal of a price)

Hmm, looks like I was temporarily blind and missed this thread when I created mine. Oh well, got a Pentax-M 50mm f/1.7 today. The only thing missing now is some nice weather.

SMC Pentax M 400mm 5.6

Just unpacked my new, to me, SMC Pentax M 400mm 5.6 lens. It looks virtually unused but we shall take care of that shortly.

Just for fun I put it on the tripod and took some shots in the basement. Not exactly inspired shots but they had the advantage of being close by. Had to shoot on the angle as you can imagine with a lens of this focal length. The basement is not that big.

First shot was wide open @ 5.6 in AV mode on the K10. As you can see depth of field is almost zero.

The second shot was @ f16 or so of the old Crokinole board. Looks pretty sharp to me.

I think this one is going to be fun.
