Hi all Vivitar Series One lovers!

Hi,

I'm sure there are people who are interested about these old Vivitar lens gems...If so, please check this thread in Dpreview's forum:

Calling all Vivitar Series 1 owners... assistance wanted!: Nikon SLR Lens Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

...Maybe some of you can even help him to get more information to his forthcoming Vivitar S1 site!

cheers,

Ari

The wasp is "stunning" Great shots Ari!
I used to be a Viv.S.1 collector in my Nikon days, but unfortunately due to optical quality inconsistance , eventually lost my interest in them. Some samples produce real great IQ though.

yeah, I know there are a lot of sample variations of these lenses - however some of these are more than great tools (S1 70-210mm f2.8-4 - ver. 3, 105/2.5 macro - same as legendary Kiron...S1 90/2.5 macro - made by Tokina etc...) Even some of these "non S1" lenses like my Vivitar 90/2.8 and 55/2.8 macro can be very good lenses.

This my Vivitar 55/2.8 can do even 1:1 magnification without any extra converters! And I like its bokeh a lot - or what you think?

I had this 55/2.8 with K20D and now with my Nikon gear...

these are really wonderful, Ari.
I still have the 55/2.8 and like it too. However my 105/2.5 was a total junk
