Interesting indeed. It is a great lens, especially on the K20. Enjoy using mine.

I love my 16-50 myself as well.

Canon 24-70mm f2.8 is known for its purple fringeing ability with edges against highlight and its weak resolution performance towards 70mm at f2.8

Otherwise most canon L zooms have flat colour and ugly harsh background bokeh. However, bokeh tends to cope well with highlights though and create perfect circle with specular highlights most of the time

The lens had been repeatedly bagged by canon users for quite some time. However, people come and go. Maybe there will be new trend to appraise that gorgeous zoom.

Same here.. love mine, terrific lens and it really suits my style and likes in photgraphy to the ground.

There are many talks on the poor copies of this lens but they are outweighed by the many fine talks in favour, those with good copies all seem to say the same thing

One thing some of us with LBA might find funny. In the comments, he advises someone who is choosing between Canon and Pentax and brings up lens selection:

"So if you think you're only going to get 2 or 3 lenses at most ever, then sticking with Pentax would be fine."

I guess I believed that too when I started out!
