Adorama is selling this second-hand Takumar lens for K1000.

I admit I've never seen such an odd-looking sample before.

Anybody know anything about it?

Here's a link to the auction itself.

Maybe the folks at Adorama (the seller) have a new notion of what constitutes K-mount...

I just sent Helen Oster, our friendly neighborhood Adorama rep a PM about this. No sense in some hapless Pentaxian getting messed up in a faulty auction.

Hi

Many thanks for the heads up. I'm waiting for someone to come into the Used department this morning to take a look.

I was just thinking that if some Pentaxian did happen to buy it by mistake it would be interesting to see the issue resolved by mailing the customer a Canon FD body to pair up with the lens.

(Maybe I ought to send for my old AE-1.....)

"Almost like new Pentax 135/2.5 Takumar for manual focus Pentax bayonette mount lenses like the K100-0.The glass is clen ,focus and F stop smooth."

there are so many things wrong with that sentence!! , who writes these things?

1. almost like new

2. for manual focus mount lenses

3. k100-0? BTW, apparently the K100-0 is a lens with a bayonet mount

4. clen glass!! clen glass!

5. a smooth "F-Stop"..

6. a pentax takumar

wowzers

At least there are K-mount taks. It would make for an interesting order to see if the lens in the pic showed up or a 135mm K-mount tak. Jsherman999 ordered a macro directly from them hoping to get lucky on a A lens an did. Unfortunately, the FD lens may be the better lens in this particular case.

3. must be that film body the required no film.

5. a smooth F-stop must of been the special order variable aperture lens.

I wouldn't get too worried about their writing skills, they have definitively proven that they cannot read.

I don't see how anyone can translate "canon" into "pentax" or "Takuamar" , "F2.*" into "F2.5"

Oh my, this is terrible. you can look into this all you'd like Helen, but something this bad is just inexcusable in my opinion. disregarding the fact that this is obviously not a screw mount Takumar lens, the grammar of the person who wrote that description makes me question their intelliegence. very, very bad indeed.
